Health Assessment
Welcome to Get Screened America
Get Screened America hits the road in 2010 as it expands the healthcare awareness program to all 10 races in which the NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series participate as the series was renamed by NHRA in a November announcement. The program will provide healthcare services to as many as 5,000 attendees per race from among the 100,000 to 175,000 NHRA fans that attend each of the 10 races.
Over the past 15 years, you have heard a lot in newspapers, magazines and on TV about the “fattening of America”, obesity and fatness among our kids, high blood pressure in adults, pre-diabetic conditions, “silent killers”, and how the cost of healthcare keeps increasing. Diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, skin cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, etc … all of these diseases can be detected and/or treated if we are made aware of health risk assessments, health screenings and the simple tests that are available.
Get Screened America is dedicated to providing reliable preventive health screening and educates the fans about working with your doctor is important. Our healthcare screening is FREE to you and promotes the importance and awareness of you and your family members being tested and screened as a way to detect these "silent killers" while they are treatable. Devoted to healthcare education, Get Screened America is using motor sports – specifically NHRA – to highlight this awareness in simple language, on this website and at selected NHRA events. We want to de-mystify the screening process, and promote the importance of testing for disease states that can be so easily cured or treated if you get diagnosed early enough. Remember the key words … “get screened”.
While the whole disease “thing” can seem overwhelming, our experts have suggested that we start keying in on some of the diseases that are easiy to diagnose first. So … Get Screened America focuses on:
- Diabetes
- High Blood Pressure
- High Cholesterol
- COPD, or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
- Cancer
- Men's Health (coming soon)
- Woman's Health
- Ulcers
- Testing Schedule
Keep checking back … there’s more to come!
For more basic information on each disease, click on the “Diseases” button along the top or side menu bar.
